What and who we are.
Twynham Residents Association was founded in 2003 because it was felt that the residents facilitated by Twynham Housing Association needed an independant voice with which they could negotiate and act with THA to improve the standard of service offered by THA. This in general is an ongoing process and improvements are being made all the time and seems to work well. We get plenty of opportunities to have more input into the overall services offered by THA.
We will assist any resident in any case as long as they have been through the THA procedures and complied with their tenancy agreement.

The committee was formed and a chair,Secretary and Treasurer were elected and a constitution was drawn up. This is recognised by THA and they are quite happy to negotiate with us.
Funding came from an initial grant which was topped up last year by THA and is used for day to day expenses. We have total control of our own budget and we now have a say in the budget for Tenant Participation with monthly meetings with THA.
We believe we have our ear to the ground and represent via our members the vast majority of the 2900 home stock of THA. Some of our members have been on seminars so have a basic knowledge of issues within various aspects of housing and are conversant we hope in the ways that Social Landlords have to work within Government guidelines and restrictions which seem strange sometimes, but must be adhered to.
