Campaign One - Fundraising
We need someone who has ideas for fundraising and is prepared to participate not just sit back and let the usual people do it. You can make a difference to your community by raising funds or helping organise an event perhaps. Ideas welcome. One idea we had was a webshop to earn commissions for funds... try it here www.buy.at/TwynhamRA. Back to top
Campaign Two - Resident Awareness
Are you aware that we represent you the resident? If not, why not?
We want to hear how we can get our message out to the residents of Twynham Housing Association.
Tell us via the Enquiry form.....
We want your ideas on how we can attract new Tenant Board Members from other areas. Perhaps a mobile road show unit may help?
The board is made up of 11 individuals, 3 Tenant/leaseholders members 2 Council appointees and 6 Independant members. You could influence the way the Association formulates its strategy and direction. You could also be part of one of the Sub Committees with duties that involve Policies and Audit functions. Training is available for all board members. Its not as daunting as you think. You could bring a valuable asset to the board. Back to top
Campaign Three - Consultations
There are and will be consultations going on all the time so watch this space. The first will be the wording of the standard letters sent out by THA. We at the Christchurch Residents Forum are now able to have our input into how they are worded, within certain criteria of course as they still have to have the desired effect. Ie getting rent paid on time etc.. The first reviews are on the 12th July 2005 and the next on the 16th Aug 2005. Both dealing with Income Recovery. This is a campaign that was started by TRA to review the wording of all the THA standard letters as we felt they were to harsh and abrupt. Back to top
Campaign Four - Recruiting
We desperately need tenants and residents to join us in our campain to empower the lot of the tenant/resident. Government initiatives are there to help us in this quest.Help us to start groups in other areas Back to top
Campaign Five - Resource Centre
TRA have campaigned strongly for this and at a Community Intiatives day 2 years ago it was suggested that there was a 55+ Resource Centre at Strete Mount. I am disapointed to say that this has been delayed and delayed. We have complained but to no avail, That is until now.We also started a small Resource Centre at Riversmeet Court but after manning it since March 2005 by 3 volunteers we have only had three visitors. Sad that you dont support us. TRA therfore decided if you wont come to us we will come to you and have made the suggestion which has been aproved by THA that we move up onto the Somerford estate and amalgamate with the other centre into one. This will be open shortly with Internet, E-Mail, Printing,Copying and basic tutorials on computers. Information will also be available. Volunteers are needed for this by the way.
I can now say that we are open at StreteMount. Bingham Rd from Tuesday 22nd November 2005 from 1pm if not before till 3pm if not after................ At Last!!!!!!!! Back to top
